We have the following opportunities for members this year who are interested in leading winter alpine trips and instructing on at least two of the weekend Snow Craft courses this year. Snow Craft will be running from July 25 to August 25.
We have some funding to pay for limited spots on these courses. By filling out this form you are applying for spots and funding. We will confirm it spots as soon as possible.

This is the perfect course for keen indoor climbers who are ready to transition to real rock! The course introduces students to gear and techniques for safe climbing outdoors on single-pitch, bolted climbs. Skills covered include top-rope climbing/ belaying, abseiling, anchors and lead climbing/ belaying.

6 indoor sessions, 1 day trip and 2 weekend trips

Includes instruction, accommodation, transport, access to NZAC equipment and dinners on weekend trips
Trad Rock Course Sign-up Form - '23/'24
This year Trad Rock will be run in collaboration with Tim Bartholomew of Dunedin Adventures (https://dunedinadventures.co.nz/). The NZAC Wellington Section is excited to be working with Tim and to be bringing you this great Trad climbing learning opportunity. There are only six available spaces for each course so be in quick!
Course One (November 2023):
1 x weekend outdoor climbing at Long Beach, Dunedin (17/11/23 - 20/11/23, course will run 18th-19th)
Course Two (Feburary 2024):
1 x weekend outdoor climbing at Long Beach, Dunedin (09/02/24 - 12/02/23, course will run 10th-11th)

$330/pp (course only)
Held at Holdsworth Lodge, Tararua Forest Park
1.5 hours drive from Wellington
Dates Sat 10 June to Sunday 11 June.
Starting at 10am - so vehicles leaving Wellington at 0800.
