A winter traverse on Ruapehu, camping at 2200m near the Wahianoa Glacier and reaching the summit on the first evening. A second day took in Girdlestone's south face, with good conditions and a close pass from a small avalanche on the descent.

An eight-day Easter trip to the Wilkin Valley with 15 members, centring on Mt Pollux via the Donald Glacier. Good weather, technical ground on the summit ridge, and several other peaks bagged along the way.
Tramper Goes Alpine
A three-day trip to Mt Franklin via the Sabine, with a summit via the Northwest Ridge, a cornice collapse that got everyone's attention, and a crossing of Moss Pass the following morning. Good conditions, good company, and one tramper's introduction to alpine climbing.

A week on the Tasman Glacier out of Tasman Saddle Hut, with mixed weather, crevasse rescue practice that turned unexpectedly real, and a helicopter flight out when walking became the harder option.

A winter crossing of the central Ruahines from Rangi to Howletts Hut, on foot through deep soft snow. Good conditions on the technical sections, and a red-hot new firebox waiting at the end.
Happy Anniversary and 1st Summit of Paretetaitonga
A bluebird day on Ruapehu's Northwest Ridge, taking in the Summit Plateau, Crater Lake and panoramic views of Ngauruhoe and Taranaki. Four club members, good snow conditions, and a few gendarmes to keep things interesting.
Of Mice and Mounts
A Wellington Section weekend on Ruapehu, climbing to the summit via Pinnacle Ridge on Saturday and Glacier Knob on Sunday. Variable conditions, a few turnarounds on the first day, and good company throughout.
